TYLER, TX- (ENJ Staff) Local organization PINKKRIBBON awarded their first annual PINKKRIBBON FIGHT Scholarship to two deserving seniors this year, one attending Tyler High School, and the other attending Troup High School.

Founded early this year by Altaneshya Gordon after she conquered breast cancer at the young age of 29, PINKKRIBBON is a breast cancer advocacy and support group.
When asked about her vision for the scholarship, Gordon said, “I was inspired to offer the scholarship as one of many ways the organization gives back to the community. I wanted the scholarship to be unlike other scholarships.”

“This scholarship is paid directly to the recipients. This way they can use it to get a new wardrobe for the upcoming semester, furnish their dorm, or any other way they choose,” she shared. There are often college costs that students must cover that fall outside of the scope of most scholarship awards, which pay directly to the school, on behalf of the student. Direct cash scholarships help to bridge those financial gaps, allowing students to enroll better prepared for each upcoming semester.
Gordon shared, “The mission of PINKKRIBBON is to support those who are fighting breast cancer, those who have fought breast cancer, and their community. Other resources available include care, financial resources, support, and mentorship.”
Graduating Seniors in the class of 2026 should be on the lookout for scholarship applications in March of 2026!
